Clearing Slovakia customs
Since Slovakia is a part of the European Union, goods can move freely as long as they are sent from inside the EU. That means you don’t need to worry about duties and taxes for shipments from inside the European Union. Shipments from outside the EU will have to pay fees if their packages are worth more than €150 – parcels with lower value enter without paying duties and taxes.
To get this exemption, be sure to properly declare the nature and value of your goods. If you don’t fill in your paperwork properly, there may be delays or extra charges when clearing customs.

Sending food to Slovakia

Packaging your parcel
There’s every chance that your shipment is bumped or knocked during the shipping process. After all, there’s a long way for them to go and if you’d like your package to arrive quickly, you run the risk of a few bumps, so be sure to package your goods properly.
There are three key points to keep in mind when packing your goods.
1. GET A NEW BOX
The cardboard box is the first line of defence when it comes to protecting your goods. Be sure to use a new, double corrugated box – old boxes may seem sturdy, but are liable to be crushed or burst in transit.
2. PACK YOUR BOX
Be sure to wrap your goods individually, so they don’t damage each other in transit. Be generous with your packaging material to suspend your goods, and be sure that no part of your goods are touching the walls of the box.
3. SEAL YOUR BOX
Your packing tape can support your box’s weakest sections, like your corners and seals. Protect them by wrapping three times in a union flag pattern, then add your shipping labels so that all information is clearly visible.
