Customs in Switzerland
Despite being bang in the middle of Europe, Switzerland is not a member of the EU, which means all parcels have to be cleared by Swiss customs before they can enter the country. Document shipments and gifts (see below) are the only exemptions to duties and taxes, all other packages will have these fees applied and the receiver will have to pay.
If the charges add up to less than 5 Swiss Francs however, the receiver will not have to pay anything.

For shipments under 50kg, we can pick-up on the day you book from most locations across the UK and Switzerland. For health and safety reasons our driver can’t come into your property to fetch a package, so please make sure that your parcel is packaged and ready to go by your front door. If your package is over 50kg in weight you need to book a day in advance.
We also offer convenient drop off locations across the UK if you don’t want to wait home all day for the courier to arrive.
Switzerland courier delivery
Unless you choose a timed delivery option your parcel will arrive at its destination in Switzerland any time between 9am-7pm on the day it’s scheduled. We don’t deliver or collect on weekends and public holidays.
As with collection, you will have to help our driver unload any bulky items. If you anticipate needing a pallet truck, or a van with a tail-lift, then let us know when you book and we can arrange it. If you want to guarantee a signed-for delivery you can upgrade to this option when you book.

Sending food to Switzerland

The food label needs to list all the ingredients
The best before date must be displayed on the packaging
Examples of pershable foods: Crisp and savory foods, Chocolates and candy, Canned foods, Herbs and Spices in sealed containers, tea bags, Jams and other preserves
What you cannot send:
Perishable foods
Foods with a shelf life of less than 6 months
Homemade foods or any foods not in the original manufacturers packaging
Foods that can spoil during transit
Food in packaging that have been opened
Food that does not contain a food label listing the ingredients
Packaging your parcel
If your parcel is going to travel up into the Swiss Alps then it might not always be a smooth ride. Therefore, the best way to ensure that its contents arrive in the condition that they left is to protect them with adequate packaging.
Follow our simple three-step plan when packing your parcel.
1. Get a new box
Second-hand boxes can hide weaknesses which may lead to them being crushed, or bursting, in transit. If the contents are heavier than 10kg then we recommend a double corrugated box.
2. Pack your box
Wrap every item individually, then suspend them inside the box surrounded by packaging material, such as bubble wrap, at least 6cm from the box edges. Nothing should move when you shake the box.
Seal your box
Using parcel tape wrap around your box three times in a Union Flag pattern. Cover all corners and joins. Adhere your label so that it won’t come off and the barcode is clearly visible.
Holidays and gift giving occasions in Switzerland
