Clearing Bulgaria customs
Since Bulgaria is a part of the European Union, they allow for the free movement of goods. That means that shipments that originate in the EU don’t have to worry about paying duties and taxes when clearing customs. Packages from other destinations only have to pay fees when they are worth above €150 – if they are worth less, then they will clear customs without any other charges.
To make sure the right fees are applied, be sure to properly declare the nature and value of your goods. Failure to do so could result in extra charges and delays in clearing customs.

It’s fast and easy to make a booking with ParcelCompare, and you may be surprised at how quickly we can turn up to collect your parcel – the same day for locations throughout the UK. This isn’t the case for bulky shipments however – you’ll need to book a day in advance for packages heavier than 50kg.
If you have any special requirements for your shipment, please let us know when you make your booking. You will also need to be on hand when your courier arrives to assist in loading and unloading your goods.
Bulgaria delivery
We will make deliveries between 9am and 7pm on normal working days. We will not make deliveries on weekends and public holidays, and we cannot be more specific about when your package will arrive – if you’d like it to arrive at a specific time, you can make use of our timed delivery services.
As a standard, we will attempt three deliveries, though some of our carriers like DPD only make one attempt before returning your parcel to a depot for collection. So, it’s a good idea to make sure someone is available to receive your shipment on the allotted day.

Packaging your parcel
When you carry a box through your house, it’s fairly likely that it will take a bump or knock on the way to its new home. You can just imagine how likely this is to be true on a global scale, so it’s vital that you properly package your goods to make sure they arrive safely.
There are three key points to keep in mind when packing your goods.
1. GET A STURDY BOX
There’s nothing better for protecting your goods than a brand new, double corrugated cardboard box. Old box’s may seem sturdy, but can often burst or be crushed on the journey.
2. PACK THE CONTENTS
Make sure your goods are well wrapped before putting them in your box. Use plenty of packaging material to suspend your goods, making sure that no part of your goods is touching the walls of your box.
3. SEAL IT UP
Use a generous amount of packing tape to seal your box. Wrap three times in a Union Flag pattern, with extra tape on the seals and corners of your box. Then add labels to your box so that all information is clearly visible.
