Clearing Lithuania customs

Because Lithuania is a part of the European Union, you won’t need to pay duties or taxes during the customs clearance process if your package was sent from inside the EU. For packages that are sent from outside the EU, there is an exemption from customs fees for goods that are worth less than €150. More valuable goods will have duties and taxes applied as normal.

To make sure you have the correct fees applied to your goods, it’s important to properly complete your paperwork. By declaring the nature and value of your goods, you help ensure that there are no delays in clearing customs.

Collection & delivery

Courier collection

There’s not long to wait once you’ve made your booking – choose same day collection and we’ll be at your door just a few hours after your booking is made. You will need to be on hand when we get there however, so you also get the option to pick a collection date that suits you better.

And if you just can’t be around for a collection, you can also make use of your nearest Access Point instead. That’s a local business where you can drop off your package – we’ll collect it from there and deliver it as normal.

Lithuania courier delivery

You can expect your package to arrive between 9am and 7pm on normal working days. Unfortunately, there is no way to narrow down that delivery window with a normal delivery, though you can make use of our timed delivery services to select a smaller delivery slot instead.

If your package is headed for delivery in the UK and you are not sure that your receiver will be in, you’ll be able to use an Access Point instead. We’ll deliver to your nearest Access Point, where you can collect it when it suits you.

Tracking your delivery to Lithuania

It can be difficult to trust your package into someone else’s hands, but Parcelcompare makes sure that you can keep on eye on it from the moment that it leaves your hands until the minute it arrives with your recipient – and you see every stop that it makes along the way. To get started all you need to do is enter your parcel tracking number, into our online tracking tool.

If something does happen to go wrong, we’ll get in touch with you and your receiver to explain the problem, and how to go about fixing it. That way, you’re always in the loop.

Sending gifts to Lithuania

Just like sending a normal package to Lithuania from inside the EU, gifts that start in the European Union are exempt from duties and taxes when clearing Lithuanian Customs. Unlike a normal package however, there’s only an exemption for goods worth less than €45. Gifts worth more than this are treated as normal shipments during the clearance process.

To make sure that you get the benefits from this exemption, be sure to make it clear that your parcel is being sent as an unsolicited gift. Don’t forget to fully declare the nature and value of your goods.

Packaging your parcel

It’s important to protect your goods properly, because there are unavoidable bumps and knocks that are part of international shipping. If you’d like your goods to arrive in the same great condition that they left in, your packaging is vital.

There are three key points to keep in mind when packing your goods.

1. Get a new box

This is the first line of defence for books and priceless statues alike. Make sure you use a new, double corrugated cardboard box – old boxes are liable to burst or be crushed on the journey.

2. Pack your box

Wrap your goods individually, after all, you don’t want them to damage each other. Surround them in your box with plenty of packaging material, and make sure they don’t move at all.

Seal your box

Your packing tape can help protect your box’s weakest points, so be generous. Wrap around your box three times in a union flag pattern, then add your labels so that all information can be seen.

Lithuanian public holidays

A public holiday in Lithuania is a chance for everyone to take a break, and that includes our couriers. That’s why we don’t make deliveries on bank holidays, so if you’re planning to send a gift, or other parcel, around these occasions remember to book early to ensure it arrives on time.
