Customs in Hungary
Hungary is a member of the EU, which has numerous advantages, including allowing free movement of goods with other EU countries. This means that if you’re sending to Hungary from within the EU you won’t be charged duties or taxes by Customs.
If you’re sending from outside the EU then as soon as your package becomes worth more than 22 EUR it will have VAT applied to it. When the value exceeds 150 EUR, it will also be subject to customs duties. These charges will be billed to the shipment’s receiver.

Why wait? If you book early enough we can collect your parcel on the same day for addresses across the UK. Don’t wait for our driver to pull up outside before you start putting things into a box though – make sure you have everything packaged and the shipping labels printed out and attached to your shipment before collection.
Anything over 50kg, or 180cm, will need to be booked 24 hours in advance, and you must offer our driver assistance in loading the van, as they cannot do it alone for health and safety reasons.
Hungary delivery
When possible, it’s normally better to send to a business address, as we deliver in Hungary between 9am and 7pm on working weekdays, so there’s less chance of nobody being in to receive your parcel. If you need your shipment to arrive in the morning, use our timed delivery options, which can guarantee your package arrives before noon.
For bigger items, which are shipped on a pallet , you will probably require a pallet truck for unloading. Let us know when you book and we will make sure all the necessary loading and unloading equipment is provided.

Packaging your parcel
You wouldn’t ship a vase in a carrier bag and expect it to arrive in one piece. Proper packing takes thought and preparation. Follow these three steps and you can be confident that your goods will arrive in one piece.
When packaging your goods, there are three main points to keep in mind:
1. A NEW BOX
There’s a reason companies like Amazon don’t send out their products in second-hand boxes – a used box can hide weaknesses which could lead to it collapsing or being squashed in transit. Invest in a new box and you won’t regret it.
2. PACKAGE CAREFULLY
Every item you put into your box should already be wrapped in protective material, like a swaddled baby. You should support your items carefully on a bed of packaging material and make sure it’s packed tightly so that nothing moves.
3. SEAL IT
Using packing tape, wrap around your parcel three times in a Union Flag pattern. Cover all corners and seals, as this will increase the strength of your package overall. Make sure labels are securely attached and the barcode is visible
