Collection & delivery

Courier collection

If speed is first on your list of priorities, then look no further than Parcelcompare. We can collect your parcel within a few short hours of making your booking – on the very same day in fact. Large and heavy parcels are an exception to this however – you'll need to book a day in advance if your package is particularly bulky.

For your convenience, you can also drop-off your parcel at retailers nationwide, saving you having to wait home for the courier to arrive.

UAE delivery

Parcelcompare makes three delivery attempts as standard. Parcels will be delivered between 9am and 7pm on normal working days (Remember that Friday is the weekend in UAE). If you need the courier to delivery in a specific window, then upgrade to one of our timed services.

If the courier has not arrived by 4pm on the day of delivery, track your shipment, if it's showing out for delivery, we recommend you contact the delivering courier directly.

Sending gifts to the United Arab Emirates

Gifts sent to the UAE are not eligible for any exemptions from duties and taxes. Fees will be applied as normal to gift shipments of any value. However, normal parcels do have an exemption for shipments worth less than 1,000 dirhams, which may be applied to gifts lower than this value.

Although it's tempting to declare that your package is nothing more than a “gift”, this could cause problems in clearing customs. Be sure to properly declare the full nature and value of your goods. For example, instead of stating ‘gift' state ‘Gift – Laptop and computer accessories'

Sending food to the United Arab Emirates

It's simple to ship food to the UAE with Parcelcompare - after all, it's one of our most popular shipments year around. There are a few extra rules to keep in mind when you're shipping food internationally, but we know just how to make sure it arrives safely. You should keep in mind that shipments of food to the UAE may require a permit, though samples of non-perishable foods weighing less than 1kg can be sent as normal goods.

All you need to do is make sure that you follow the rules below, and it will be simple to ship something to go with your gahwah to Dubai, or an Eid gift to Sharjah.

What you can send:

Non-perishable foods

  • Store bought foods with a best before date over 6 months away

  • Items must be in the original manufacturers packaging and unopened

  • The food label needs to list all the ingredients

  • The best before date must be displayed on the packaging

  • Examples of pershable foods: Crisp and savory foods, Chocolates and candy, Canned foods, Herbs and Spices in sealed containers, tea bags, Jams and other preserves

What you cannot send:

Perishable foods

  • Foods with a shelf life of less than 6 months

  • Homemade foods or any foods not in the original manufacturers packaging

  • Foods that can spoil in transit.

  • Food in packaging that have been opened

  • Food that does not contain a food label listing the ingredients

Packaging your parcel

When you're shipping a package internationally, there are often bumps and knocks that are unavoidable – to make sure that your goods arrive in the same condition that they left in, proper packaging is vital.

1. GET A STURDY BOX

Your box is an important part of protecting your goods. Parcelcompare recommends using a new, double corrugated box for every shipment. An old box may appear strong, but could have weaknesses that lead to your package bursting or being crushed in transit.

2. PACK THE CONTENTS

Each individual item that you send should be wrapped in bubble wrap or something similar. Use plenty of packaging material to suspend them in your box, and make sure that no part of your goods are touching any part of your box.

3. SEAL IT UP

Be generous with your packing tape – it can help protect the weakest parts of your box. Wrap your box three times in a Union Flag pattern, with extra tape on the corners and seals of your box. Apply your labels to that all information is clearly visible – especially the barcode.

Holidays and gift giving occasions in the United Arab Emirates

Everyone enjoys the chance for some extra rest, and our partner carriers are no different. For that reason, deliveries are only made on normal working days – on public and bank holidays, and on weekends, we will not make any attempt at delivery.

The list of public holidays in the UAE below should be kept in mind when planning your delivery, to make sure your parcel arrives when it is expected.
