Send parcels to Malaysia

You can’t just send anything you like to Malaysia. Couriers have rules about what they will and will not carry – Parcelcompare has a list of items that are prohibited for shipping with us list of items that are prohibited for shipping with us – and countries have their own lists of items that they don’t allow into the country. These prohibited items are banned completely from import into Malaysia:

• Knives and daggers

• Pens and pencils

• Goods that look like syringes

• Indecent or pornographic material of any description

• Counterfeit money

• Chemicals that are poisonous

• Cloth with prints or duplicates of verses from the Quran

• Radio receivers capable of reading the ranges (68-87) MHz and (108-174) MHz

• Anything that is unsuited with peace or is prejudicial to Malaysia’s interests

• Sodium arsenate

• Some forms of liquor

  
  

These goods, among others, are not allowed, except with an import licence or permit:

• Imitation or toy guns and firearms

• Imitation explosives

• Fireworks and other explosives

• Clothing that serves as protection against attack, like bullet proof vests

• Motorcycle and other safety helmets

• Motor vehicles

• Home brewing equipment

• Radio communication equipment that operates at a lower frequency than 3000 GHz

• Arms and ammunition

• Outdoor parabola antenna

Please note that this is not a comprehensive list of goods that are restricted and prohibited. If your item does not appear on this list and you’re not sure that your goods are allowed into the country, look at Malaysia’s complete list.

An important thing to note is the strictness of Malaysia’s ban on illicit drugs – the punishment for smuggling drugs is extremely severe. Those who are caught doing so are punished with death by hanging.
