Customs in Argentina
When you send a shipment to Argentina, there is no exemptions from duties or taxes for goods of any description, only documents get a free pass. During the customs clearance process, there will be fees attached to your parcel depending on the value and place of origin for your shipment.
To make sure that the right fees are applied to your package, you need to fully declare the nature and value of your goods in your paperwork. Nobody wants to be charged the wrong fees, so make sure you’re as accurate as possible.

Collection & delivery
Courier collection
There’s nothing worse than waiting around for your courier to arrive. That’s why, on top of our same day collection, we also let you drop your parcel off at local businesses from which our partner carriers will collect. That means you can get on with your day while your parcel gets on its way.
If you’d prefer that we collect your parcel from your door, we can do so within hours of taking your booking. However, if your shipment is particularly large, you’ll have to book a day in advance.
Argentina delivery
Once we have your parcel in our hand, we’ll make your delivery between 9am and 7pm on normal working days. Most of our partners will try to deliver three times, but we recommend entering the recipients email address, so we can let them know when delivery will be made.
If you’re desperate to get your hands on your package, or you are working to a deadline, use one of our timed delivery services to make sure your parcel arrives in the morning, with pre-9, 10 AM and noon delivery options available for most locations.
Tracking when shipping to Argentina
When you are sending a package to Argentina, it’s making a journey that spans half the planet. It takes just a few days to arrive at its destination, and you can keep an eye on it every step of the way, thanks to our free real-time shipping.
International shipping is a complex process, and your package might make a few unexpected stops on the way – so you might even learn something while you watch your package on its way.
And though most packages arrive without an incident, if yours is one of the very few to have an issue, our customer services will get in touch with both you and your recipient to make sure everyone knows what has happened.
Sending gifts to Argentina
Just like sending a normal package, shipping a gift to Argentina doesn’t qualify for any exemptions from duties or taxes during the clearance process. Keep in mind that fees are paid by the receiver, so the receiver of your gift may end up having to pay to get their hands on it.
Although it can be tempting to keep the contents of your gift a surprise, it’s vital to fully declare what your goods are and how much they are worth. Otherwise, you might fall afoul of delays or large fees when clearing customs. So already be specific, instead of stating ‘Gift’ in the goods description, state ‘Gift of Laptop and computer accessories’.
Large parcel and air freight
Large and heavy parcels are a challenge for some couriers, but Parcelcompare ships packages large and small without a problem. There are some rules to keep in mind, but as long as your book a day in advance, we can send air freight and pallets alike. We’re not a removals company though – which means that we won’t be able to help you move out of your house, even if we can carry the biggest, bulkiest goods.
So, whether your shipping pallets to Rio Negro, a table to Santa Cruz, or household effect so to Catamarca, Parcelcompare’s specialise air freight services offer a convenient and cost effective solution.
Sending food to Argentina
What do you spread on your toast in the mornings? In Argentina it’s Dulce de leche but, if that’s not your speed, Parcelcompare makes it easy to ship something a little different. Grandma’s handmade jam might not be on the menu – as you can’t send homemade food by courier – but your bread spread of choice is likely fair game.
There are some extra rules to keep in mind when sending food, but Parcelcompare ships hundreds of food packages every month, so we know just how to make sure your tastiest treats arrive safely in Buenos Aires and Córdoba alike.
What you can send:
Non-perishable foods
Store bought foods with a best before date over 6 months away
Items must be in the original manufacturers packaging and unopened
The food label needs to list all the ingredients

Examples of pershable foods: Crisp and savory foods, Chocolates and candy, Canned foods, Herbs and Spices in sealed containers, tea bags, Jams and other preserves
What you cannot send:
Perishable foods
Foods with a shelf life of less than 6 months
Homemade foods or any foods not in the original manufacturers packaging
Foods that can spoil during transit

Packaging your parcel
With an entire ocean to traverse, it should come as no surprise that your package risks a few bumps or knocks during its journey. To make sure your goods arrive in good condition, you should properly package them.
1. GET A STURDY BOX
By using a new box, you’re giving your goods the best possible protection. Older boxes may look strong, but could be crushed or burst in transit. A strong, double corrugated cardboard box is ParcelCompare’s recommendation for the best container possible.
2. PACK THE CONTENTS
Wrap up your goods individually before you place them in the box. Then swaddle them in plenty of packaging material – you shouldn’t be able to feel anything moving when you shake the box gently. Don’t let your goods touch the walls of your box either.
3. SEAL IT UP
Packing tape can make a big difference in protecting your box’s weak points. Wrap three times around the package in a Union Flag pattern, with protection on seals and corners, then apply your shipping labels so that all information is clearly visible.
